JOB SUMMARY:
Empty Bin Handlers are integral members of the production process at Los Gatos Tomato Products. Empty Bin Handlers play an important role in assuring the quality packaging of the product by preparing containers for product filling and keeping the line assembly flowing consistently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assemble plastic bin.
- Removes and stacks lids.
- Inspects bins and removes any foreign objects.
- Inspects bins, drums, and lids for cleanliness.
- Performs housekeeping practices, such as sweeping the area and picking up debris.
- Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
- For wood bin place cardboard tray on the bottom of the bin making sure tray is flush to the bottom
- Ensure right liner is being used based on container.
- Review SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) to ensure accuracy.
- Feed bins inside processing room
- Reload plastic liner rolls as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for reporting any problems with the Food Safety Quality Management System with your direct supervisor. Authority to initiate and record Corrective Actions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to perform duties on any shift.
- Receive training from supervisor and employees.
- Ability to stand 7 – 8 hours, walk, bend, squat, and stoop as needed.
- The employee is frequently continuously required to talk, hear, and stand.
- The employee is frequently required to walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, hear, smell, and work long hours.
- The work is typically medium strength level, exerting up to 50lbs of force occasionally or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently.
- Ability to communicate with all supervision and peers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration, and loud noise. Employee will intermittently be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Employee also may be exposed to chemicals used in the process. The employee repeatedly works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
